The Day of My Final is Almost Here!

I've been so busy lately I haven't had much time to stamp. I am have been getting my creative bug out by working on my mom and dad's 50th anniversary album every day for the past month. I've still got so many pages to go (at least 50) but slowly it is coming along. I have been downloading additional digital scrapbooking papers and embellishment because I'm getting bored with working with just the program stuff.

Here is a page I created for my sister and her husband. I learned how to create the torn paper effect....it takes a little work but it is cool!

Christopher and I just got back from the pool at the gym.........today was one day when I really regretted not getting into the pool with him! It was boiling out there! We stayed for about an hour before coming home. I'm going to try to go and make some graduation cards now for a little bit and take a break from the scrapbooking............I've decided not to waste any more time trying to study for the final. I've definitely got a C now so I'm happy with that...anything above and beyond that will be a bonus! I'd like to get a least 30 of the 100 questions right but we will see!

Two more cards...............

Finished two more cards this morning along with my homework and the grocery shopping. Even bought two of the queen palm trees from Costco for the back yard since we are cutting everything down back there and redoing it. That was a lot of fun trying to get them out of the truck and into the back yard. Good thing I work out...whewww.....They look so small though.........we REALLY need to find a replacement gazebo so it doesn't look so bare! I think I'm going to take a trip to Capitol Nursery and see what other greenery I can find to fill in back there. I want it to look really tropical.

Some more cards....

Here were the other 2 cards that I did.......I bought this ribbon a long time ago that had the little butterflys hanging from it and have never used it. I've had the little silver butterflies forever as well. They came in a bag of like 200 and I've still got lots and lots. I'm sure between my craft room and Connie's house, we could make cards for years and never have to buy anything except for the essentials!

Sturday Evening......April 26th

Whew.......I'm tired....Chis got up at 6:00 to go and feed the homeless with his brother and friend so he was out of here by 6:45. I got up early too so I could go to my fat burning sculpt step class at 8:30 then I had to rush out to Folsom to practice for my upcoming handcar races. On the way home from that I had to go to work to pick up my textbook for school since I had forgotten and I've got homework due on Monday. Then I was off to the post office to pick up the box of pictures that my mom sent me for the digital scrapbook I'm making for their 50th anniversary. I also went out to the hair salon where I have my cards and was going to just take them because I hadn't sold anything for a while but when I got there there was $40 in the envelope so I guess I will take more next weekend. We went out to dinner using my hard earned money.....Carl's Jr......just in case you were thinking it was something extravagent.....NOT!

Christopher spent the afternoon with his new friend Mario who lives next door. He swam in their pool for hours and they had a ball. I'm glad we finally have someone on this street that he can play with. They moved in a couple of months ago....he is 12. My wonderful husband cut down a couple more trees in the back yard in preparation for the palm trees I'm going to be getting to put back there instead. We almost took out the neighbor's fence and deck but we managed to stop the branch in the nick of time. Tomorrow I've got to work on my homework and go grocery shopping so that will take up a lot of my day.

I've been working on cards off and on all day. I'm trying to use up all my scraps and stuff that has been laying around for eons. I'm not really that impressed with any of them......they are just kind of average. I need to find a new technique to use or something to be excited about. Weird....it will only let me post 3 of them. I guess I'll have to do another post with the other 3.

This one was kind of cool because I used one of my corner punches to make the bottom of the card.

Sunday Evening....

I can't believe the weekend is over already! Where does the time go? The good thing is that we got a lot done around the house this weekend so that was nice. We spent the day working in our backyard, cutting down trees and branches in preparation for planting new queen palms back there instead of the "volunteer" trees that are back there now. Our new gardener recommended planting queen palms if we wanted a more tropical feel. It is going to be a long process though.........We've got to cut down all the trees, order about 3 cubic feet of soil to amend the soil in the back, get a gazebo and put that up, oil the deck, plant lots of plants, round up the grass, rototill it up and then plant some shade seed and hope that without al the trees it will actually grow. My husband is thrilled let me tell you.....oh well, we'll just take it one step at a time.

Got up early this morning and got all my homework done, even the stuff that is due on Wedneday and Thursday....now all I have to worry about this week is my test on Friday.

Here are a couple of cards I worked on this weekend. I didn't get much of a chance to work on cards because I was so busy doing other things! I'm not terribly thrilled with any of them except for maybe the first one....

Friday night at last....

Ahhh, Friday night at last....I thought Friday was never going to get here. I have been too busy all week to blog. It is my mom and dad's 50th wedding anniversary coming up and I have taken on the task of putting together a digital scrapbook of their lives so I have been gathering photos from all the kids and asking for letters of sentiment to mom and dad to put in there as well. Of course, my most fun has been the pictures which I have been morphing of my family. That has kept me at my computer till after midnight every night as I put my brother's head on my dad's body or put my dad's head on a muscle body. Needless to say, I have been cracking myself up.....
On top of all that, Christopher has a school project that is due next week that he has been pestering me every single day to get started. He has written a report at school about sharks and we had to make a diorama to go with his report. A diorama is a 3D scene which you make in a shoe box, a miniature model of something. I have to admit that my diorama, excuse me, I mean CHRISTOPHER'S diorama turned out beautiful. Obviously not something that my son did all by himself but hey, that was never stated as a requirement. He helped picked out all the items to go in it and glue in the sand and the stuff on the bottom and cut some of the stuff. Here is a picture of it from a couple of different angles. Many thanks to my friend Gail who provided the sand and seaweed and some shells for the project as well as internet research on it. She was wishing she had to put one togeher so she could play too!

Lately I have been playing a game with Christopher....called Moment of Truth. I don't know if you have seen this show on TV or not but they ask you questions and you have to answer truthfully or the lie detector will tell whether you were lying or not. If you lie, then you lose all the money from the truthful answers. It has been a great way to get honest answers out of him.....I've asked him questions like "have you ever picked your nose and ate it?" (and just so you know, his answer was YES...gross!) or "if your girlfriend Emily wanted you to kiss her, would you?" His answer to that one was an adamant NO because he would get suspended if he did. His answers have cracked us up........I don't know where he comes up with some of the things that he says. When we were getting ready to pray tonight, Chris and I were laying on his bed and Christopher said, "Hey, get away from my woman! She doesn't want you....cuz your old and you've got a beard and nose hair and an oddly shaped butt!" We were laughing so hard we about peed.....he just kept going on and on about all Chris' characteristics that weren't good and when we asked him where he came up with all this stuff, he said, "well, I just have to LOOK at you to come up with it!"

Here is a card I made during the week. I started making tri-fold cards to do something different because I was bored. Here are a couple of pictures of the first one that I made. I forgot to take a picture of the 2nd one but I plan on making more this weekend if time and homework permit!

One good note about today....someone at work today bought 4 mother's day cards and paid me $20 or $5 each because she thought that I undercharged for them! Yahoo! Well, off to my digital scrapbook.....
